Potato and Corn Chowder

This is one dish to prepare when craving for some warm comfort food. It is easy to prepare, since all its ingredients are all kitchen staples. It’s also a great way to recycle those left over chunks of ham and sausage.

  • 400 g potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 400 g cream style corn
  • 1 cup leftover ham and/or sausage
  • 430 g whole kernel corn (drain, if canned)
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  1. Place potatoes and milk in a large pot. Cook potatoes in low heat, stir to prevent curdling.
  2. When potatoes are soft, stir in cream corn, meat and whole kernel corn. Simmer mixture for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in cheese until it melts and top with green onions.

Shrimps in Oyster Sauce

Prepared oyster sauce is such an easy shortcut to adding great flavor to food. In this recipe, shrimps get a quick dress up with a little help from the bottle.

  1. In a wide skillet, heat oil. Saute garlic and onions until translucent.
  2. Add oyster sauce, ketchup, shrimps and green onions.
  3. Cook until the shrimps have a reddish color. (This will take only a few minutes.)
